How to adapt locally?

To develop adaptation strategies, local or provincial stakeholders should start by identifying the most likely and most problematic impacts of climate change in their respective region.

The AMICA Adaptation Tool with its central component, the Matrix of Adaptation Measures, can then support the search for suitable adaptation measures according to impacts addressed, sectors involved, spatial scope, time horizon and responsible authority (departments and government levels).

The Matrix of Adaptation Measures is a tool to explore the various possibilities of adapting to climate variability and climate change on the local to provincial level and contains more than 40 adaptation measures which are assigned to four impact types (columns) and nine categories of measure largely representing sectors (rows). By clicking on a single measure one is directed to its webpage which contains a detailed description of the measure, internet links, and material for download.
